The Year That Was…

The Year That Was

2015 has by far been the most eventful and exciting year yet for Arka Mediaworks. After the release of “Panjaa” in 2011, we had immediately begun work on what was then, just a concept, brought forward by S. S. Rajamouli – considered to be the country’s most renowned director even then. Although a highly ambitious and expensive project, our founders, Shobu and Prasad, instantly put their trust in Mr. Rajamouli and took ‘a leap of faith’ with this film.
Now when we look back, we wonder whether anyone really knew what we were getting ourselves into – with the countless man hours put in, the massive scale of the sets and props, the sheer numbers of people required to pull it off, etc. All in all, the final product took 4 years to complete, and last year in 2015, the world was introduced to the magnum opus that is ‘Baahubali’.

As you all can imagine, the entire team is extremely proud, given the obstacles that we have overcome and the feats we have accomplished. From breaking several box-office records to taking the world by storm at several prestigious international film festivals, “Baahubali: The Beginning” has truly set a benchmark for the Indian film industry as a whole.

Additionally, Arka Mediaworks, also a leading name in television programming and syndication across the nation, has also launched two popular T.V. serials this past year. “Naa Peru Meenakshi”, a socio-drama, telecasts on ETV Telugu and is now one of the top-rated shows on the channel. Furthermore, “3 Idiots”, a comedy serial, was also launched late last year on a new channel, ETV Plus.

As we move into 2016 and dive into work on Part II of the epic, “Baahubali: The Conclusion”, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our well-wishers for the unconditional love and support – none of this would be possible without you all!
